7 Air, a U.S.-based airline specializing in cargo services, has successfully carried out its first test flight as part of its preparations to commence operations. The airline, owned by The Xtreme Group (TXG) and headquartered in Miami, Florida, is in the process of obtaining certification to become a specialized cargo carrier.

The test flight took place on Thursday, January 23, 2025, with a Boeing 737-800 freighter departing from Miami International Airport (MIA) and landing at Fort Worth Alliance Airport (AFW) in Dallas, Texas. Flightradar24 data confirmed that the aircraft, registered N782AC, completed a return flight on the same day.

7 Air’s fleet currently comprises two Boeing 737-800 freighters, both converted from passenger to freighter (P2F) configurations. The first aircraft was delivered in April 2024, followed by the second in September 2024. The airline aims to expand its fleet with an additional four 737 freighters.

The company plans to offer a variety of cargo services, including ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance), CMI (Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance), full charters, scheduled charters, and ad-hoc charters.

In addition to the certification process, 7 Air is investing in specialized handling facilities and logistics systems to support diverse cargo needs. The airline is also forging partnerships with cargo operators, ground handling agents, and freight forwarders to establish a robust network.

7 Air’s management team includes CEO Amasvido Rodriguez and VP of Commercial Operations Carlos Cock. The airline initially targeted a launch of regional cargo services in the first quarter of 2024. This milestone test flight marks a significant step toward achieving its operational readiness and positioning itself in the specialized cargo market.
