EgyptAir has initiated a major upgrade of its network infrastructure aimed at improving operational efficiency, enhancing resilience, and delivering more dependable services to its passengers.
As part of this modernization initiative, the airline has partnered with SITA, a global leader in air transport IT solutions, to deploy advanced digital infrastructure and connectivity. This collaboration marks a significant step in EgyptAir’s strategy to transition towards scalable, secure, and cloud-native technologies that meet the growing demands of modern aviation.
Secure Service Edge
The adoption of SITA Connect Go will provide EgyptAir with a robust framework for secure airport connectivity and infrastructure protection. This next-generation solution will also offer Secure Service Edge (SSE) capabilities, advanced messaging features, and enhanced service assurance, all of which contribute to the airline’s goal of optimizing its network performance. In addition, SITA’s Community Departure Control System (DCS) will streamline ground operations, helping EgyptAir reduce costs and increase efficiency across its global operations.
Through this modernization, EgyptAir aims to minimize dependence on legacy systems while boosting transparency and operational control. By enhancing its digital infrastructure, the airline is better equipped to handle increasing passenger volumes and evolving security requirements. This initiative aligns with Egypt’s broader vision of strengthening the civil aviation sector and positioning the country as a regional hub for air transport and digital services.
The official agreement was signed in Cairo by senior representatives from both organizations, including EgyptAir’s Head of the Information Sector, Eng. Yasser Omran, and SITA’s Director for North and French-speaking Africa, Houssam Dakroub. Speaking on the partnership, Captain Ahmed Adel, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company, emphasized that the move is a cornerstone of the airline’s digital transformation journey. He highlighted its importance in supporting the country’s tourism and travel growth and in enhancing the overall passenger experience.
This collaboration not only demonstrates SITA’s commitment to supporting leading airlines like EgyptAir but also showcases EgyptAir’s forward-looking approach to innovation and sustainability. As airports grow busier and the aviation sector faces increasing pressure to operate efficiently, this digital transformation gives EgyptAir the tools needed to stay competitive in a dynamic regional market. It is a clear signal of the airline’s readiness to embrace change and lead in delivering smart, connected travel experiences.
