CCI Worldwide Logistics, the freight forwarding division of the CCI Group, has introduced its pioneering ‘Trans Africa’ service, aimed at transforming logistics across the African continent.

Backed by a $12.7 million investment, this initiative is poised to streamline cross-border trade using advanced technology-driven freight solutions. Targeting key African markets in its initial rollout—namely Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, and Egypt—the service aims to expand swiftly into Francophone West Africa, Central Africa, and landlocked nations including Uganda and Zambia.

Trans Africa’ plan

This launch supports the broader objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which envisions creating a single $3.4 trillion economic zone. With intra-African trade still constituting only 16% of the continent’s total exports, ‘Trans Africa’ seeks to address critical supply chain inefficiencies through multimodal, digitally connected logistics corridors.

The platform is engineered to support the transport of high-demand commodities such as pulses, auto components, pharmaceuticals, and vehicles. Utilizing a digital-first framework, ‘Trans Africa’ integrates ocean, air, road, and rail logistics with smart features like AI-powered route optimization, real-time tracking, and mobile-friendly access. It also provides automated carrier matching, performance-based pricing, and unified documentation systems, enhancing transparency and simplifying compliance across over 20 African countries.

Localized digital customs tools and API integration with national portals aim to reduce procedural delays. Furthermore, its user dashboards offer live updates, ensuring visibility and efficiency even in regions with limited internet connectivity.

Strategic partnerships with port operators, trade blocs, and border authorities strengthen the platform’s operational reach. According to Satish Singh, Vice President – P&L at CCI Worldwide Logistics, this service reflects CCI’s long-term vision for enabling inclusive, reliable trade in Africa.

With a 48-year legacy, operations in 105 countries, and a significant footprint in India—including 1,200+ vehicles and over 7 million sq. ft. of warehousing—CCI’s ‘Trans Africa’ marks a decisive expansion into Africa’s logistics landscape.
