Kenyan logistics software startup Leta has expanded into Ghana, marking its seventh African market after Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Mauritius. The expansion comes on the heels of a $5 million seed round raised in March 2025, led by Speedinvest with participation from Google’s Africa Investment Fund and Equator.
Founded in 2021 by Nick Joshi, Leta provides AI-powered logistics software that helps businesses manage fleets, optimize delivery routes, and reduce transportation costs. Its entry into Ghana begins with Simbisa Brands Limited, one of Africa’s largest quick-service restaurant groups with over 600 outlets across 11 countries.
“We are officially live in Accra with our first customer on the ground,” Joshi shared.
Software solutions
Leta is addressing persistent supply chain inefficiencies across the continent by focusing on software solutions rather than infrastructure. Its platform is tailored to operate in challenging logistical environments, offering businesses cost-effective and data-driven tools for delivery optimization.
Since its pre-seed round in 2022, Leta reports: 5X revenue growth, 4.5 million deliveries completed, 150,000 tonnes of goods transported and over 7,400 vehicles managed. Its clientele includes major brands such as KFC, East African Breweries Limited, Wells Fargo Courier, and Gilani’s. With the latest funding, Leta aims to refine its product and continue its geographic expansion across Africa, positioning itself as a key player in the continent’s logistics tech space.
