AD Ports Group has strengthened its presence in Angola through a series of agreements aimed at modernizing logistics, transport, and trade systems. The company signed a landmark deal with Angola’s trade regulator, Agência Reguladora de Certificação de Carga e Logística de Angola (ARCCLA), to deliver a digital Single Logistics Trade Window solution that will streamline customs, trade, and logistics processes.

Developed by AD Ports’ digital subsidiary Maqta Technologies, the system known as JUL will integrate Angola’s trade and transport platforms, harmonizing sea, air, and land operations while reducing inefficiencies and carbon emissions.

Inked preliminary deals

In parallel, AD Ports announced a $6 million investment in fleet expansion, acquiring 30 trucks and 45 trailers for its Angolan logistics arm, Noatum Unicargas Logistics. The purchase nearly doubles its trucking capacity, strengthening operations at the Port of Luanda, which already handles more than three-quarters of Angola’s container and general cargo throughput and provides maritime access to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zambia.

The Group also signed five preliminary agreements with Angolan ministries and private partners. These cover potential cooperation in maritime services, cabotage, airport cargo handling, logistics platforms, training, and healthcare supply chain solutions. Among them are plans to support the creation of a national maritime academy, explore ferry and coastal transport, and enhance airport logistics at Catumbela. Additionally, AD Ports’ joint medical-logistics venture with Burjeel Holding will work with Angola’s Ministry of Health on supply chain solutions for pharmaceuticals and medical equipment.

These initiatives build on AD Ports Group’s 20-year concession at the Port of Luanda, where it holds majority stakes in both terminal and logistics operations. With $250 million committed through 2026, the Group is positioning Luanda as a central West African hub while supporting Angola’s broader economic transformation and job creation agenda.
