The BHL Group, a leading logistics operator in southern Africa, has issued an urgent call for 300 additional trucks to support a major upswing in cargo volumes moving through the Port of Walvis Bay, Namibia, and onward to Zambia.

CEO Buks Jansen van Rensburg,  made the announcement and said BHL needs the extra fleet to handle 100,000 tonnes of cargo over the next three months and is offering opportunities for backloads, providing consistent hauls in both directions.

Increase in demand supply

This spike in demand is driven by increased shipments of mining supplies, bulk liquids such as sulphur, and fertilizers through Walvis Bay. The Walvis Bay Corridor Group has also noted the rising volumes of fertilizer imports bound for Zambia, which further intensifies the need for reliable transport partners.

BHL invites transporters with trucks registered in Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, or Zimbabwe to collaborate on this high-demand route, providing a strong opportunity for logistics companies in the region. Interested parties should reach out to BHL to discuss partnership options and join the effort to meet the region’s growing hinterland logistics needs.
