CEVA Logistics has launched a 4,300-square-meter international road transport (TIR) centre in Alashankou, China, marking a strategic expansion of its cross-border capabilities. Located within the Cross-Border eCommerce Industrial Park of Alashankou’s Comprehensive Bonded Zone, the facility also includes 1,000 square meters specifically for handling dangerous goods.

This is CEVA’s first TIR hub designed to manage both inbound and outbound road freight under the Transports Internationaux Routiers (TIR) system. During the official opening ceremony, local government representatives joined CEVA in celebrating the milestone.

Positioned near the Kazakhstan border, Alashankou serves as a key gateway to Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Europe. Its infrastructure and bonded-zone benefits such as accelerated customs clearance, duty-free warehousing, and streamlined regulations make it ideal for supporting eCommerce logistics and regional manufacturing growth.

The new TIR centre will support less-than-truckload (LTL) consolidation, enabling multiple clients to share cargo space and optimize shipping costs. CEVA reports that using TIR transport in conjunction with this facility can cut average transit times by nearly 30% and reduce shipping costs by around 15% compared to traditional road transport methods.

The centre will serve as a hub for CEVA’s expanding TIR network, connecting roughly 30 cities across 15 countries. This initiative is part of the company’s broader effort to build a reliable, fast, and cost-effective road freight corridor linking China with strategic markets in Central Asia and beyond.
