CEVA Logistics is set to construct a large-scale logistics base near Cameroon’s deep-water port in Kribi. The move aims to strengthen firm’s presence in Central Africa.

The new facility will cover 30,000 square meters, including a 25,000-square-meter container yard with a capacity of up to 2,200 TEUs and 5,000 square meters of warehousing space tailored to accommodate key exports such as cotton, cocoa, sesame, lumber, and gum arabic. Strategically located just two kilometers from the Port Authority of Kribi, this development is a major step in CEVA’s regional growth strategy and is expected to improve cargo flow, reduce lead times, and meet rising demand for port-proximate logistics services.

Expansion goals

Kribi’s port, with its ability to handle large vessels, plays a vital role in linking Central African economies to international trade routes, offering a distinct advantage over older facilities like Douala. The new base will complement CEVA’s existing infrastructure in Cameroon, including a logistics hub in Douala’s Bonabéri industrial zone, a 20,000-square-meter container depot with bonded storage, and offices in Kribi and Yaoundé. The expanded network positions CEVA to offer comprehensive logistics solutions that connect inland producers to global markets via multiple gateways.

Scheduled to be operational between September 2025 and January 2026, the Kribi platform supports CEVA’s broader African expansion goals. The company, which already operates in 24 African countries, plans to establish a presence in four additional markets—Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, and the Republic of Congo—by the end of 2025. This expansion is part of CEVA’s strategy to provide tailored, end-to-end supply chain services across the continent, particularly in areas with underdeveloped logistics infrastructure.

As trade volumes grow and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) gains traction, CEVA’s investment in Kribi aligns with the increasing need for efficient logistics hubs to support regional integration and cross-border trade. Headquartered in Marseille and a part of the CMA CGM Group, CEVA Logistics employs approximately 110,000 people worldwide and reported revenues of US$18.3 billion in 2024, with Africa becoming a key focus of its global operations.
