DEWALT, a leading American manufacturer of construction tools and a subsidiary of Stanley Black & Decker, has officially launched its operations in Kenya. This expansion reflects the company’s strategic commitment to Africa’s rapidly advancing construction industry.
The announcement came during DEWALT’s debut at The Big 5 Construct Kenya 2024, where the company introduced a variety of innovative power tools and technologies. These solutions are specifically designed to meet the unique demands of professionals working across Africa’s challenging job sites.
“Our move into Kenya goes beyond expanding our footprint it represents our dedication to supporting Africa’s infrastructure development with reliable, high-performance tools,” said Umair Shahzad, DEWALT’s Commercial Director, at the exhibition.
Growth potential
Kenya’s vibrant construction scene driven by urban expansion and increased government investment in infrastructure and housing offers strong potential for global players. DEWALT aims to play a central role in this growth by providing professional-grade tools that improve efficiency, safety, and job site productivity.
The product lineup includes cordless drills, heavy-duty saws, and the brand’s next-gen FlexVolt battery system, offering adaptable power for demanding tasks. Although DEWALT tools were already available in Kenya through third-party sellers like Shopit and PowerTools Kenya, the company’s new approach involves a direct presence in the market. With enhanced local support, technical training, and after-sales services now in place, DEWALT is positioning itself as a long-term partner to the region’s construction professionals.
“We’re here to empower Kenyan builders with tools that deliver global-standard performance,” noted Ezhl Erkeslm, DEWALT’s Trade Marketing Manager for the Middle East and Africa.
Kenya will serve as a strategic hub for DEWALT’s broader ambitions in East and Central Africa, as the company aligns itself with the continent’s urban development trajectory. Founded in 1924, DEWALT has built a reputation for durability, innovation, and trusted performance in the construction, woodworking, and manufacturing sectors worldwide.
