DP World-Egypt, in partnership with Egypt’s Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to undertake a feasibility study for a new 500-acre general free zone along the Cairo-Ain Sokhna Road.

This proposed zone is intended to bolster Egypt’s supply chain infrastructure, attracting international investments and aligning with the nation’s Vision 2030 goals to strengthen its logistics framework. Strategically positioned within ACUD’s 1,958-acre land area near major Egyptian ports on both the Red and Mediterranean Seas, the zone is ideally situated to benefit from the Sokhna-Dekheila logistics corridor.

Global and regional trade

This location will enhance connectivity, supporting faster trade and transportation through Egypt’s expanding logistics network. The free zone aims to attract high-demand sectors such as electronics, automotive, fast-moving consumer goods, clothing, and footwear.

The project aligns with Egypt’s focus on creating an integrated logistics network that not only meets local demand but also serves as a key transit hub for global and regional trade. Through the expertise of DP World-Egypt, the initiative is expected to enhance Egypt’s logistical infrastructure, draw foreign direct investment, create jobs, and drive economic growth.

Additionally, DP World-Egypt, which manages the Ain Sokhna Port, is developing an 84-acre logistics facility in Ain Sokhna, underscoring its commitment to Egypt’s logistics and trade infrastructure. The feasibility study for the free zone is a critical step toward Egypt’s Vision 2030 objectives, positioning the country as a regional trade hub that leverages its geographic location and strategic partnerships.
