Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates Group, has introduced a new specialised logistics service called ‘Aircraft Engines’, designed for the transportation of large, high-value aircraft engines.
This product is part of a broader initiative under a newly created vertical named Aerospace and Engineering, which focuses on providing advanced, tailored logistics solutions to industries requiring precision, speed, and specialised handling.
The ‘Aircraft Engines’ service addresses the complex requirements of moving aircraft engines, which are typically shipped for maintenance, repair, or replacement. Given the critical nature of these components, the product prioritises speed and safety throughout the logistics process.
Emirates SkyCargo employs certified loadmasters to supervise each stage of handling—loading, securing, and unloading—using shock-absorbing transport dollies and specialised checklists. Real-time monitoring is provided by a dedicated control tower team, and customers can opt for additional tracking devices to ensure full visibility throughout the shipment’s journey.

Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo, explained that this offering was developed through close collaboration with industry stakeholders, leveraging the carrier’s infrastructure, technical knowledge, and proprietary technology. The service also includes global support from logistics specialists based in key cities, accessible through a dedicated hotline and email to assist customers with any technical or operational queries.
The Aerospace and Engineering vertical itself serves a wide array of sectors, including commercial aviation, defence, space, and advanced engineering. Clients range from aircraft manufacturers and component suppliers to satellite producers and government agencies requiring high-security transport solutions. In addition to the new Aircraft Engines product, the vertical includes AOG (Aircraft on Ground) services for urgent shipments of aircraft parts. Emirates SkyCargo has enhanced this offering by introducing clearly marked ‘Must Go’ cargo bags to highlight the urgency of these items.
Emirates SkyCargo already has substantial experience in handling aerospace shipments, having transported hundreds of engines annually. The company has also played a key role in high-profile missions, including the delivery of KhalifaSat, the UAE’s first domestically built satellite, and the shipment of nanosatellites from France to New Zealand for global IoT deployment.
In a broader push to diversify and enhance its logistics offerings, Emirates also recently launched Emirates Courier Express, a fast end-to-end parcel delivery solution with an average turnaround time of less than 48 hours. The service was piloted over the past year across several markets, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and the UK, and is aimed at customers seeking rapid, reliable, and flexible delivery solutions. With these new offerings, Emirates SkyCargo continues to strengthen its position as a global leader in premium air freight, committed to meeting the evolving needs of complex, high-value logistics sectors.
