FaceATT, a sophisticated facial recognition application designed for security, access control, visitor tracking, and workforce management, has expanded beyond South Africa.

As businesses across various industries recognize its versatility, the app is now being adopted in multiple sectors. Developed by South African AI software firm R8Code, FaceATT enables real-time monitoring through precise facial recognition, GPS logging, and timestamping via smartphones.

AJ Makoni, the founder and lead developer, reports that FaceATT is now in use across South Africa and has recently been implemented in Zambia. Companies in industries such as property management, logistics, security, and manufacturing are integrating the app to strengthen their security protocols and operational controls.

Three Zambian businesses, in particular, have adopted FaceATT for different purposes. A property management firm utilizes it to confirm whether employees conduct scheduled inspections and ensure company vehicles are not misused. A security and cash-in-transit service provider has replaced manual attendance logs and shift rosters with FaceATT’s digital facial recognition and GPS tracking. Meanwhile, a transportation company is testing the app to prevent fuel theft and ensure drivers record accurate trip distances.

Makoni highlights that FaceATT is revolutionizing the security sector by digitizing traditional paper-based procedures, enhancing efficiency, and reducing costs. By leveraging real-time attendance tracking through facial recognition, businesses only pay for verified work hours, preventing fraud and improving accountability. The app is also valuable for managing access to office parks and industrial sites, streamlining visitor records, tracking vehicle entries and exits, and even blacklisting unauthorized individuals.

To meet evolving market demands, FaceATT continuously introduces new features. Recent updates include payroll and HR system integrations, automated alerts for employees to clock in and out during breaks, and supervisor-managed timekeeping. Employees can also log their attendance using their own smartphones. Additionally, the app allows users to assign and monitor tasks, further enhancing productivity and operational oversight.
