NYSE-listed e-commerce leader Jumia has unveiled its largest integrated warehouse in Africa, located along Suez Road in Cairo, Egypt.
The new facility, covering over 27,000 square meters, was inaugurated in a high-profile ceremony attended by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, and Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber. The warehouse is designed to function as a central logistics hub, significantly enhancing storage and distribution efficiency across Egypt, particularly targeting underserved regions such as Upper Egypt.
Infrastructure strategy
“We are proud to unveil this milestone investment, which reflects Jumia’s deep-rooted commitment to Egypt as a strategic market in our pan-African operations. This new facility not only improves how we serve millions of customers and sellers across the country but also strengthens our support for local manufacturers, drives job creation, and advances Egypt’s digital economy,” said Abdellatif Olama, CEO of Jumia Egypt.
The Cairo warehouse is part of Jumia’s broader infrastructure strategy across Africa. It follows the April 2025 launch of a new logistics center in Ivory Coast, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade.
Egypt also plays a critical role in Jumia’s operations as one of its largest technology hubs, where a growing team of engineers is developing digital and logistics solutions for the entire continent. Jumia currently operates in nine African countries and connects around 70,000 sellers with customers across its platforms.
