Aiming to enhance competitiveness and trade within the avocado sector, the congress will serve as a hub for technology, business, and knowledge exchange. Key discussion topics include quality and safety standards, productivity, phytosanitary measures, marketing strategies, genetic resources, and nutrition and gastronomy.

“Kenya continues to solidify its position as Africa’s leading avocado exporter,” said Ernest Muthomi, CEO of ASOK.

According to the USDA, Kenya’s avocado exports are projected to increase by 6.3% to 135,000 tonnes in 2025, with export revenues expected to climb 11% to US$175 million. This growth is attributed to favourable weather, expansion of cultivation areas, and rising global demand, particularly in Europe and the Middle East.

“Avocado Africa 2025 serves as a pivotal platform for stakeholders across the avocado industry to converge, share knowledge and explore new business opportunities,” Muthomi added, noting that Nairobi’s central location highlights Kenya’s critical role in the global avocado market
