The League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) has announced that its highly anticipated 29th Annual Conference will take place on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the Providence Hotel, located in GRA Ikeja, Lagos.

With the theme “Aviation Financing in Nigeria: The Risks, Opportunities and Prospects,” the event is expected to attract a broad spectrum of aviation stakeholders, including government officials, airline executives, airport operators, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies. International participants are also expected to join the discussions.

Organisers say this year’s conference is poised to play a pivotal role in addressing critical financial challenges within Nigeria’s aviation sector. Topics up for discussion include infrastructure funding, aircraft leasing models, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) investment, aviation fuel economics, airspace and navigational infrastructure, insurance and risk management, and broader regulatory considerations.

Speaking on the significance of the event, Mr. Wole Shadare, Chairman of the LAAC Conference Committee, emphasised the importance of the annual gathering.

Annual Aviation Conference

“This year’s conference is more than a routine industry meeting—it is a crucial platform to explore innovative financing frameworks that can drive sustainable growth in aviation,” he said.

A highlight of the 2025 edition will be the unveiling of a special publication titled “Celebrating Champions of Aviation Development.” The book aims to recognise notable individuals, organisations, and state governments that have significantly contributed to the advancement of Nigeria’s aviation industry since the country’s return to democracy in 1999.

The conference has received notable backing from both public and private sector entities. Several state governments that operate airports have pledged their support, affirming their commitment to infrastructure development. Nigerian banks and financial institutions are also expected to play a prominent role, given the theme’s emphasis on funding and investment.

According to LAAC, representatives from regulatory agencies, domestic and international airlines, ground handling companies, travel firms, and other service providers have confirmed participation, signalling a strong industry-wide commitment to dialogue and collaboration.

Now in its 29th year, the LAAC Annual Conference has grown into one of the most influential events on Nigeria’s aviation calendar. It has consistently provided a forum for informed debate, policy formulation, and stakeholder engagement. The League reaffirmed its dedication to promoting best practices, fostering sectoral growth, and recognising excellence within the aviation industry.
