Saudia Cargo has recently earned the IATA CEIV Fresh certification, marking a significant step forward in its ability to manage and transport perishable cargo. This certification is a globally recognized standard developed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to ensure the safe and efficient handling of temperature-sensitive goods. It validates Saudia Cargo’s adherence to best practices for maintaining product quality throughout the supply chain.

IATA CEIV Fresh certification

This latest milestone is part of Saudia Cargo’s broader commitment to specialized logistics. The CEIV Fresh certification follows two earlier achievements: CEIV Pharma and CEIV Li-batt, which cover pharmaceutical products and lithium battery shipments, respectively. Together, these certifications reinforce the airline’s role as a trusted logistics provider in high-value, compliance-driven sectors.

The airline’s investment in perishable logistics comes as demand continues to grow particularly in the transport of dates from Saudi Arabia, a key export product. Saudia Cargo reported a noticeable increase in volumes over the past year, driven by greater international appetite for this traditional fruit. With CEIV Fresh certification now in place, the airline is better positioned to support and grow its perishable cargo operations.

In addition to these certifications, Saudia Cargo has been expanding its international routes to enhance global connectivity. Notably, it has launched a new service between Liege in Belgium and Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport, as well as added more flights linking Zhengzhou in China with Liege. These network developments are aimed at supporting the seamless flow of goods across key trade corridors while maintaining quality and efficiency.
