Dubai-based cargo airline SolitAir has achieved a significant milestone by obtaining its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the United Arab Emirates’ General Civil Aviation Authority. The company announced this achievement, highlighting the leadership of Founder and CEO Hamdi Osman in securing the certification in record time.

In addition to the AOC, SolitAir has expanded its fleet to include three Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighters (BCFs). Two of these aircraft are currently operated by ASL Airlines Ireland, while the third, leased from ASL Aviation Holdings, is stationed in Sofia. This expansion aligns with the partnership announced late last year, wherein ASL Airlines Ireland would operate 737-800BCFs in collaboration with SolitAir.

Since commencing operations last year, SolitAir has been actively growing its network. The airline launched routes to Bangalore, India, and Erbil, Iraq, in January, following the initiation of flights to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, late last year.

The airline plans to further extend its operations across Africa; the Middle East Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries—including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman; the Indian Subcontinent; and the Central Asian “Stan” countries—Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. This strategic growth underscores SolitAir’s commitment to enhancing its presence in key regions and strengthening its position in the global air cargo industry.
