New company, CEVA EFL Limited, combines global logistics expertise with local market knowledge to deliver integrated supply chain solutions and improve regional connectivity

CEVA Logistics and EFL Africa have partnered to establish CEVA EFL Limited, a joint venture designed to enhance logistics connectivity between Nigeria, West Africa and global markets.

The partners identified Nigeria as a strategic location for the venture due to the country’s position as the largest logistics market in West Africa and a key gateway for regional trade. Nigeria’s logistics potential is expected to grow further as major infrastructure investments, including the planned development of what is anticipated to become Africa’s largest seaport by the Dangote Group, come online.

The new venture combines CEVA Logistics’ extensive global network and supply chain expertise with EFL’s strong operational footprint and local market knowledge in Nigeria. Together, the partners aim to provide seamless connectivity between Nigeria, West Africa and international markets through integrated, customer-focused logistics solutions tailored to the evolving needs of businesses in the region.

A key differentiator of CEVA EFL is its portfolio of consolidated and expedited logistics services, including dedicated barge operations. The venture enables the movement of shipping containers from Lagos ports to Inland Container Depots (ICDs) via barge, reducing reliance on congested road networks and significantly improving transit times.

The joint venture also benefits from a comprehensive ICD infrastructure network comprising 140,000 m² of depot space across two locations in Ikorodu and Apapa. The facilities include an Export Processing Terminal (EPT), providing additional support for importers and exporters. Furthermore, CEVA EFL offers customs clearance services through its licensed in-house team, ensuring efficient and reliable processing of shipments.

Beyond enhancing logistics capabilities, the partnership is expected to create significant value for Nigeria’s logistics sector by introducing global best practices, facilitating skills and knowledge transfer to local employees, and accelerating EFL’s growth and regional expansion.

Sylvain Kluba, Vice President of Finance IMEA at CEVA Logistics, said the joint venture demonstrates the company’s commitment to connecting Nigeria and West Africa with the global economy.

“This joint venture represents a bold step forward in our commitment to connecting Nigeria and West Africa to the world. By combining CEVA’s global reach and logistics expertise with EFL’s deep local knowledge and infrastructure, CEVA EFL is uniquely positioned to deliver seamless and reliable solutions to our customers. Together, we are creating a logistics ecosystem that drives growth and unlocks new opportunities in this high-potential market.”

EFL CEO Yemi Adunola echoed these sentiments, highlighting the partnership’s potential to transform logistics operations across the region.

“We are excited to partner with CEVA Logistics to launch CEVA EFL. This collaboration underscores our shared vision of transforming logistics in Nigeria and West Africa. By leveraging our combined strengths, we are not only addressing the challenges of this complex market but also creating value for our customers through efficient, integrated and customer-focused solutions. CEVA EFL is a testament to our commitment to driving progress and fostering economic growth in the region.”
